Inspired by this wonderful review of the year post over at Attic24, I thought it would be a good idea to have a look at what I’ve made this year and pick out the highlights for me… I’ve been very selective, just including things that were fun to do in themselves and / or things that I’ve been particularly pleased with. Here are my choices.
Sewing
Hand-sewn felt pin cushion – this is probably my favourite of the year. I love it because the finished item absolutely lived up to my idea.
***
Needle book with appliqued flowers – I’ve included this one because it’s a reminder to me that it’s ok to do something a bit different (for me) now and again!
***
Blue Sprigged needle book with vintage button – I like the way the colours work together. I love this combination of pale blue and dark red.
***
Zippered pouch using (mostly) recycled fabrics – something I want to do more of in 2011.
***
My 1st Artist Trading Card – using pieced patchwork, applique & embroidery. I had huge fun designing and making this and I’d like to do more in the future.
***
Crochet
I loved how this chunky basket turned out – the yarn works perfectly with the pattern. I am also pleased that I managed to meet the scary challenge of writing up a crochet pattern for sale!
***
This pretty teal bracelet is just about my favourite crocheted thing this year. I love the combination of the cotton thread with that cute button.
***
I’m including these because they remind me that I have done really well with sales this year – very cheering! I think these were my best seller, in real and pattern form.
***
Included because I love the zingy colours and I love crochet!

I’d love to read about and see your own favourite creations of 2010. Please feel free to comment and leave a link if you want to show off a photograph or a blog post.
